For humans, living and working in society comes as naturally as breathing; it is so fundamental to our species that we are inclined to think we have a monopoly over organized society. But nothing could be further from the truth. Over the course of history, mankind has developed great social systems, some tyrannical, others democratic. But none of them can match the New World Order established by social insects more than 100 million years ago and which continues to this day.
