A glimpse, in words and pictures, of the places where Georges and his team shot the different episodes in the INSECTIA series and of some of the incidents that occurred. A chance to meet the people they met and to catch Georges live, in all his glory.

Ecuador - San Pablo

The crew arrives at San Pablo
Almost all of the Myths and Legends episode was shot in Ecuador, in the State of Oriente. Our most memorable moments were spent in San Pablo, a small Secoya village on the shores of the Aguarico River, east of the town of Shushufindi. It took a full day's travel to reach San Pablo, which is only accessible by river.

Thanks to the intervention of an Ecuadorian member of our crew, Nicolas Cuvi, the three or four families who inhabit this tiny village graciously accepted to put us up. Like Nicolas, we too soon fell in love with these friendly indigenous people.

The large village ÇhallÈ soon became the centre of our activities. It was our cafeteria, our meeting-room and film set. During our several days there, the Secoya shared their meals with us and treated us like family. What a joy to be surrounded by running, laughing children!

The film crew's quarters
The Secoya put an unoccupied house at our disposal. Each person was entitled to two square metres, which is about the size of a sleeping bag spread out on the floor. The equipment, on the other hand, had all the space it needed. It wasn't a four-star hotel, but rather a four billion star hotel. Sleeping under the stars with the jungle whispering a lullabye . . . what a treat!
